Fort O' Brien School in Machiasport is a PreK-8 grade elementary school.
We are located on the coast of Washington County, Maine. Our Town of Machiasport is comprised of 5 villages, Machiasport village, Starboard, Bucks Harbor, East Side, and Larrabee. Some of the primary sources of income in our town are Fishing (lobster and Scallops) and Clamming.
Our students have the opportunity to attend Washington Academy in East Machias, ME, an independent school of secondary education. We are fortunate as well to be located very close to the University of Maine Machias and it's lifelong learning center.
Our students participate in a robust sports program and we are proud of our Teams!

Welcome, Shannon Cherry!!
Shannon is a Washington County, Maine, SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator. Shannon will be traveling to our school monthly to share resources, provide information, and teach lessons in healthy habits to enrich young bodies.
In an ongoing effort to keep our minds on wellness, each student in grades K-4 will receive a core fruits BINGO board. Check with your students' teacher to see what exciting things are happening with this activity!
